<h1 id="hd_id3109850" dir="auto">Special Tips for Table Controls</h1>
<p id="par_id3153539" class="paragraph" dir="auto">You can define a table control to display the records as you like. In other words you can define data fields for displaying or editing data like in a database form.</p>
<p id="par_id3152372" class="paragraph" dir="auto">The following fields are possible in a table control: text, date, time and currency field, numeric field, pattern field, check box and combo box. In the case of combined date/time fields, two columns are created automatically.</p>
<p id="par_id3159194" class="paragraph" dir="auto">The number of selected lines, if any are selected, is in parentheses after the total number of records.</p>
<p id="par_id3155616" class="paragraph" dir="auto">To insert columns into the table control, click in the column heads and bring up the context menu. The following commands are available:</p>

<p id="par_id3153750" class="paragraph" dir="auto"><span class="avis">Calls a submenu to select a data field to adopt it in the table control.</span></p>
<p id="par_id3155552" class="paragraph" dir="auto">Configure the table control using drag and drop: Open the data source browser and drag the desired fields out of the data source browser and on to the column heads of the table control. A pre-configured column is created.</p>

<p id="par_id3153345" class="paragraph" dir="auto"><span class="avis">Opens a submenu to select a data field to replace the data field selected in the table control.</span></p>

<p id="par_id3157958" class="paragraph" dir="auto"><span class="avis">Deletes the currently selected column.</span></p>

<p id="par_id3152996" class="paragraph" dir="auto">Opens the properties dialog of the selected column.</p>

<p id="par_id3159157" class="paragraph" dir="auto"><span class="avis">Hides the selected column.</span> Its properties are not changed.</p>

<p id="par_id3159400" class="paragraph" dir="auto"><span class="avis">Calls a submenu where you can select the columns to show again.</span> To show only one column, click the column name. You see only the first <span class="emph">16</span> hidden columns. If there are more hidden columns, choose the <span class="emph">More</span> command to call the <span class="emph">Show Columns</span> dialog.</p>

<p id="par_id3149416" class="paragraph" dir="auto">If you use the keyboard only to travel through controls in your document, you will find one difference to the other types of controls: the <span class="emph">Tab</span> key does not move the cursor to the next control, but moves to the next column inside the table control. Press <span id="swlnsystextshared0201170004xml_2" class="switchinline"><span hidden="true" id="MACtextshared0201170004xml_2" class="MAC"><span class="emph">Command</span></span><span hidden="true" id="defaulttextshared0201170004xml_2"><span class="emph">Ctrl</span></span></span>+<span class="emph">Tab</span> to move to the next control, or press <span class="emph">Shift</span>+<span id="swlnsystextshared0201170004xml_3" class="switchinline"><span hidden="true" id="MACtextshared0201170004xml_3" class="MAC"><span class="emph">Command</span></span><span hidden="true" id="defaulttextshared0201170004xml_3"><span class="emph">Ctrl</span></span></span>+<span class="emph">Tab</span> to move to the previous control.</p>
<h3 id="hd_id3153062" dir="auto">To enter the special keyboard-only edit mode for <span class="emph">Table Controls</span>:</h3>

The <span class="emph">Delete</span> key deletes the current column.</p>
